MystaReed (Reed I’o) began DJing in college on the radio, with a freak out show of every genre and mash-ups. During that time Reed became the Engineer of the radio station WBIM Bridgewater State College, where he made all of the “commercials and announcements” to be played during the other shows. After putting down electronic music for many years it came back in a powerful way. In 2010 Reed began DJing again for Ecstatic Dances, from Hawaii to Toronto, and now Santa Cruz. MystaReed strives to take musical journeys taking the dancers around the world and providing space to release the ego, creating a clear space to bring clear and refreshed spirit to inspire all aspects of life. Enjoy the mixes, Dance til you can’t, then Dance more!

Ecstatic Dance in its most basic definition is free-form movement /dance inspired by music, allowing our bodies to move freely without judgment or concern for the “grace” or beauty of the dance. This is the dance you dance when nobody is watching! This dance is an inner/outer journey of moving meditation. It develops a direct body-spirit connection, letting your body and inner guide be your teachers. It’s about being present with your own energy and discovering your own dance within using this movement and energetic experience to release stuck patterns in your body, emotions, mind and spirit.

A talk free dance floor.

Ecstatic Dance is
what you make of it…

a freeform movement space where:
dance expands
spirit activates
boundaries melt
boredom ceases
creativity breaks out
hope happens
beauty flows
communities collaborate
ritual is reinvented
harmony resonates
The beat deepens
as an electronic tapestry
of world rhythms
weave us together
as individuals
within a greater family.
Dancing as manifestations of Light
